Does PreviMed offer services/products for individual patients or their physicians interested in exploring overseas treatment options?
PreviMed does not have any services or products at consumer levels. This is intentional for many reasons, mainly pertaining to PreviMed values respecting trusted relationships. PreviMed works with businesses and organizations – typically health insurance companies, self-insured businesses and health-focused governmental agencies – by providing them with more options for cost savings and treatments without compromising patient safety.

Why are PreviMed services/products not available for cosmetic surgeries and related treatments abroad?
PreviMed’s systems work with medical procedures/treatments that may be typically covered by health insurance. Cosmetic procedures – such as Botox - are generally not covered by any insurance. Patients taking this treatment overseas face the additional challenge that some of the complications may not show up for a period of time, and well after their return. For these reasons, PreviMed’s products/services are not built around cosmetic procedures.

How do physicians and caregivers react to the options of sending their patients overseas for treatment?
All physicians and caregivers want their patients to find relief. They also realize that for many patients getting the treatment at home is simply unaffordable. For these patients, the choice is only between going overseas to get the treatment or continuing at home without the doctor-recommended procedure. You can find out more by using any of the popular search engines.

Is the lowest priced bid from an overseas hospital the only selection criteria?
While cost is an important consideration when exploring treatments overseas, there are many other factors that need to be considered before deciding on something as important as a medical procedure or treatment. These include but are not limited to hospital accreditation, qualifications and experiences of the treatment team and also travel logistics such as trip duration, language, culture and weather of the destination. Finally, patients may consider other aspects such as presence of family or relatives in the other countries, season of the year and exchange rates. PreviMed systems enable businesses to offer multiple choices, with associated factors, to their members and employees.

Does the international accreditation of a hospital guarantee a successful outcome?
When it comes to complex, invasive medical procedures, accredited hospitals provide a degree of security. Some international certifications such as ISO may have less relevance for medical work than other more clinically oriented accreditation such as JCI and Tufts. Of these, JCI (Joint Commission International)is the most popular mark; Many hospitals all over the world are actively investing large amount of resources and finances to earn JCI accreditation. Still, even with well accredited hospital and well qualified and experienced staff, hospital-based treatment carries an element of risk and no one can guarantee a successful outcome. The best way to be completely free of this risk is by staying away from hospitals by, if possible, not requiring the treatment at all (eat healthy foods, exercise regularly, no smoking etc.).

What hospitals has PreviMed selected to work with and in which countries?
This changes based on the treatment and procedures and is a moving target. Currently, PreviMed is working with more than 10 hospitals in 2 continents.

Does PreviMed engage in any monetary transfers between businesses or individuals involved in the overseas health treatment options?
PreviMed is not a money transmitter and does not engage in any financial transactions between or on behalf of anyone.
